Bell (ベル)? is the main antagonist from Kibou no Chikara ~Otona Pretty Cure '23~.
Bio
Appearance
Bell is a female humanoid being with dark green eyes, short magenta hair, and black horns. She also has a pair of black wings, a dark pink gemstone, and markings on her forehead. Her skin is extremely pale, and her ears are elongated and pointed. She has red and vermillion mascara on her face.
She wears a lavender puffy collared shoulder-less gown with long gloves adorned with dark purple gems. Both of her ears have round golden earrings, and she wears golden bracelets around her wrists. Her legs are clad in black garbs, with a pair of golden anklets.
After reformation, her horns have become gold, her dress and wings become white, and her gems become sky blue.
Personality
Bell is an emotionless being who believes that time can't be stopped or rewound. However, a part of her wants to take control of time. She is also cruel and manipulative, knowing how to take advantage of her enemies' weaknesses.
Although Bell is initially cynical, deep down she cares about the town she is guarding. However, her cynicism eventually leads her down a dark path. After witnessing the heroism and hope of the Cures, Bell starts to become kinder and has slightly more hope for humanity, despite still not initially trusting humans. When Bell sees Nozomi's comatose state, she finally decides to let go and slowly starts to trust humans again.
Etymology
Bell is a hollow, cup-shaped metal object that produces a ringing sound when struck[1].
History
Years ago, Bell was born along with the clock tower to protect the town. However, after witnessing years of disasters, Bell decided that humans would be better off be gone.KnCOPC11
After a red lightning hits the clock tower, Bell appears, and notices negative emotions coming from humans. She then proceeds to use dark orbs to summon monsters known as Shadows from humans' shadows.KnCOPC01 Soon, due to her influence, Shadows begin spreading across the city. She is surprised when Cure Dream defeats some of the Shadows, and decides that Cure Dream is now her enemy. KnCOPC02
Bell later forces Nozomi into her dimension, where she reveals that she turns weak-willed and selfish people into Shadows so she can put them to sleep, as Bell believes foolish humans are unnecessary. Noticing that Nozomi's heart is wavering, Bell disguises herself as a troubled Nozomi who wonders why Coco won't visit her. Bell also disguises herself as Coco in attempt to make Nozomi's heart waver even more, and successfully gets rid of Nozomi's CureMo. When Coco arrives, Bell attempts to make Coco's heart waver too, but fails, so she changes back to her normal form. Bell doesn't believe there's a future for anyone, and has her Shadows combine into a giant Shadow. She gives the Shadow more power, and is so angry when Dream purifies it that she kicks Dream and Coco out of her dimension. Bell then vows to herself that she won't ever give up.KnCOPC05
Bell later confronts Michiru and Kaoru, who she discovers to not be human. She doesn't understand why they're willing to turn good, and attacks them with her Shadows. After watching Saki and Mai transform into Cure Bloom and Cure Egret again, Bell vows to destroy the Pretty Cure.KnCOPC09
It is eventually revealed that Bell, despite originally being the angel from the town's clock tower, actually came from the near future, where the town would be abandoned and ruined. With that, she traveled to the present to create and spread Shadows, as her method of getting rid of humans and stopping the future from happening. KnCOPC10 She then tells the Cures, who are trapped in her dimension, that the town will become a ghost town due to natural disasters and selfishness, and reiterates how she is only trying to protect this outcome from happening. After attacking the Cures, she insists that they should destroy the other humans together. She then sends out a ginormous Shadow to destroy the town. But she soon realizes that her actions are actually destroying the town, and is surprised that Dream still decides to save her from her own Shadow.KnCOPC11In the end, Bell takes her leave after the Shadows are purified, and thanks the Cures despite not trusting humans yet at first. When she sees Nozomi become comatose, however, she slowly begins to trust humans and heals Nozomi from her comatose state, allowing Nozomi to be reunited with Coco.KnCOPC12
Abilities
- Summoning Shadows: Bell is able to summon Shadows by using small spiky orbs to infect a person's shadow.
- Telepathy: Bell is able to telepathically hear every person's thoughts, whether they are positive or negative.
- Time Travel: Bell is able to travel from the future to another part of time.
- Healing: Bell is able to heal people who are sick or injured even from a distance.
