Kirakilala♪ Cure Idol Debuts! (キラッキランラン♪キュアアイドルデビュー！ Kirakkiranran♪ Kyua Aidoru Debyū!)? is the 1st episode of Kimi to Idol Pretty Cure♪ and is the 1019th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.
Summary
Sakura Uta lives in Hanamichi Town. One day while on a walk, she meets a fairy named Purirun. Purirun has come in search of KirakiLand's savior called Idol Pretty Cure.

Synopsis
The story begins with Cure Idol walking on a big heart-themed stage. The crowd cheers her on as she is ready to get the show started. A petal then flies in, transitioning to a girl, Sakura Uta, walking her dog Kyutarou in Hanamichi Town. She sings about smiles being in full bloom as Kyutarou barks along. Uta then shouts about it being very "Kirakilala". The shop owners notice she is full of energy.
Just then, she notices a peach floating down a river. She wonders if it's the real-life Momotaro and decides to get a hold of it. She puts her bag near the railing, takes her shoes off, and leaves Kyutarou to look after her belongings. She catches the peach and places it down on the grass. The peach starts to crack. Uta's expectations are proven wrong when she is blinded by the peach's light, confused to see a fairy putting a ribbon on her chest. The fairy introduces herself as Purirun.
Uta can't believe this, so she runs to Cafe Glitter, her home. She calls out to her family in a state of panic. Uta explains and imitates Purirun, who apparently followed her home. Oto, her mother, and Hamori, her younger sister, approach her. Hamori likes that Purirun is fluffy, but Uta tells her to be careful. Oto reassures her that Purirun is probably a stuffed animal. Uta's father, Kazu, reminds Oto that he's about to open the cafe. Oto and Hamori head back inside.
Uta places Purirun on the counter, deeming it a mystery. She serves a morning set to manga artist Komiya Ema, the specialty being a Kirakilala♪ cream soda. Ema thinks the morning set looks delicious and announces her manga went on sale today. Uta is overjoyed to hear this, rambling on about how much she adores Ema's work. She proceeds to sing with her spoon, while Purirun wakes up. Ema claps to Uta's song. Purirun blinks and senses Uta's Kirakira. Ema says Uta's songs always give her energy, which delights the latter.
One of the other customers, Jou Renji, mentions that Uta is always singing ever since her childhood. Oto thinks Uta could be their poster idol, but the latter disagrees. When Uta turns around, Purirun is gone. She decides to refer to this experience as a dream once she lays down at her bed. Purirun says otherwise and Uta rolls over in her direction. She jumps away, realizing Purirun is in fact alive. She introduces herself and shakes Purirun's hand until she is desperate for answers as to why the fairy stumbled across her. Purirun explains she came floating down the river to find someone who'd save KirakiLand, her kingdom. She believes Uta is the perfect candidate, the "Idol Pretty Cure", a savior who will bring light to the darkness. Uta is she's amazed, but believes she can't be a candidate because she has no knowledge of this. As a result, Purirun throws a tantrum. Uta tries to pacify her by saying her singing is good. She goes to sleep while telling Purirun to find someone else to recruit. Purirun flies around until she bounces off Uta, winning her over with her cuteness. Uta finally decides to help Purirun search for the Idol Pretty Cure.
While looking around Hanamichi Town, Uta asks the internet about the Idol Pretty Cure. No results come up. Purirun holds the PreToy Camera, only for Uta to freak out. A little boy asks his mom about Purirun. Uta pretends she doesn't know what happened and takes Purirun to hide near a building. She tells the fairy that she can't let others see her, or they'll freak out. They interrogate IDOL STORE, where Uta asks an employee if they've heard of the Idol Pretty Cure. Purirun clutches Uta's right foot and flies to a nearby aisle. Uta silently screams as Purirun picks out a KirakiLight and persuades Uta to buy it with her cuteness. Uta takes her wallet out of pure reluctance. Next, they look in a music shop. Uta sees Purirun get into more trouble, where the fairy is listening to some music with headphones and her KirakiLight. Many people witness this. Uta grabs and questions what Purirun is doing. Despite this, they keep searching, asking people like a baby, Hanami-chan (the mascot of Hanamichi Town), and cats if they're the Idol Pretty Cure, but to no avail.
Purirun is hungry, so Uta takes out her wallet to buy a hot dog. The fairy inhales it up whole. Uta is disappointed because she thought they'd share; it wasn't just the monthly allowance she was worried about. Just then, a sumo wrestler sitting beside them makes them assume he is the Idol Pretty Cure. Uta decides to send the man off with Purirun down to the river in the peach. Purirun waves goodbye. However, the man and Purirun suddenly come back. Purirun tells Uta that the man wasn't a Pretty Cure but was actually called Kurikyuta. Kurikyuta and Pretty Cure don't even sound the same to Uta. She decides to wave to him until he leaves. Purirun is upset that they can't find the Idol Pretty Cure, so Uta takes her somewhere to cheer her up.
Meanwhile, at Team Chokkiri's hideout, Chokkirine is playing pool. She doesn't like that the world is full of ugly Kirakira, and states that their goal is to plunge the world in pitch-black darkness to her colleagues Cutty and Zakkuri. Cutty volunteers to attack first. Zakkuri doesn't appreciate Cutty cutting in line, but Chokkirine allows him to proceed - all for Lady Darkine.
At the Heart Tree, Uta admires the view of Hanamichi Town, but Purirun is saddened because it reminds her of when KirakiLand was destroyed. Uta, sympathetic, cheers Purirun up with a song about them being together. Moved by Uta, Purirun hugs her. She feels Kirakilala♪ and insists Uta is the Idol Pretty Cure.
At Books Hanamichi, Ema signs a poster and is congratulated for her debut. Just then, Cutty appears, senses her Kirakira, and turns her into a Makkuranda using a manga book and paintbrush. Uta notices that it has gotten dark, with Purirun feeling a shudder. The two gasp as the Makkuranda destroys a building. Cutty notices that Purirun has escaped KirakiLand, while the fairy knows him from Team Chokkiri and senses Ema inside the monster. Uta learns Ema has lost her Kirakira but decides to step up towards the Makkuranda. Purirun warns her to be careful. Cutty anticipates.
The Makkuranda notices Uta and hits the ground, barely wounding her. Uta reaches out to Ema through singing, but Cutty makes the Makkuranda shoots a pen at Uta. This heavily injures her in an explosion as she hits the ground. Purirun screams Uta's name, the monster slowly approaching the girl. Uta, however, gets up and wants to make Ema Kirakilala♪ with her song. As Purirun cries, another explosion comes in. Uta is miraculously rotected by a barrier and her Pretty Cure Ribbon forms. The Idol Heart Brooch flies out of Purirun's bag. Uta, catching both, transforms into Cure Idol.
Idol freaks out over her new appearance. Cutty makes the Makkuranda shoot pages. Idol panics, dodging and jumping high in the sky. The monster stands in her way, only for her to fly headfirst into it. She regains her balance and clenches her fists, fighting the monster out of pure desperation to rescue Ema. She lands a punch on the monster, causing it to fall backwards. Ema's Kirakira slowly comes back. The Makkuranda shoots repeatedly at Idol, only to be sent flying in the air with her Idol Fist Touch. Purirun cheers her on and Idol purifies the monster with Idol Smiling.
With Ema saved, Idol catches a baby pink Pretty Cure Ribbon. Cutty retreats to inform Chokkirine of the Idol Pretty Cure. All the damages sre reverted. Ema wakes up, lying on a bench and forgetting whst happened. Idol, hiding behind a pole, is glad Ema's okay, dancing with Purirun to please the crowd. Just then, she realizes she is an Idol Pretty Cure and freaks out as Purirun waves to the audience from an aerial view of Hanamichi Town.
