Synopsis

Miyuki brings her friends to visit her grandmother in the countryside. They struggle to walk in the summer heat, and they stop to cool off at the river. An elderly lady warns them that a kappa might appear and pull them in. Miyuki recognizes the lady as her grandmother, Hoshizora Tae.

They arrive at Miyuki's grandmother's house and admire the beautiful countryside. She invites them to the riverbank, where she is chilling vegetables in the water. Nao notices a shrine and wonders if kappas are real. Tae gives Miyuki a cucumber, which she floats down the river as an offering to appease the kappa. Miyuki reveals that her grandmother told her many stories as a child, including ones where children are saved by a kappa, a tengu, and a zashiki-warashi. Reika suggests that this is the origin of Miyuki's love of fairy tales. Miyuki believes that youkai are kind, and bring gifts to those who are kind to them.

That night at dinner, Tae sets an additional place for Candy. Miyuki insists Candy is just a plushie, but Tae doesnt believe her.

After dinner, Miyuki reveals the purpose of her visit: Miyuki's parents are worried that Tae, getting older, may have trouble coping by herself in the countryside, and they want to invite her to live with them in the city. Tae declines, saying that she is surrounded by "treasures". Miyuki asks what the treasures are, but she says it's a secret.

The next day, the girls help in the vegetable garden. Meanwhile, Wolfrun struggles with the summer heat and heads to the mountains, cooling off in the river when he is startled by something in the water. He runs away and coincidentally arrives at Tae's house. Tae notices that he is hungry and goes to fetch him some food. She isn't afraid of him, calling him a cute little fox.

Outraged, Wolfrun summons Bad End Space in an attempt to send Miyuki's grandmother into despair. He is startled when she is completely unaffected. He tries to get her down by predicting doom and gloom, but Tae's positive attitude is unbeatable.

When Tae goes to fetch Wolfrun some food, he turns an incense holder into a Super Akanbe, ordering it to destroy her house. The girls transform to fight it.

The Pretty Cures fight the Akanbe and push it away from the house. Cure Happy promises to protect her grandmother's treasures, which she believes to be her home, the fields, mountains and so on. While they debate whether those are her real treasures, the Akanbe blasts the Pretty Cures with a fireball and knock them down. They are unable to get up in time to stop the Akanbe from firing another fireball at Tae's house.

Suddenly, a blast of wind comes from the mountains and blows out the fireball, protecting the house and knocking the Akanbe into the river. Miyuki believes it is the tengu, from the stories her grandmother told her. A creature in the river also attacks the Akanbe. The girls use this opening to transform into their Princess Forms and defeat the Akanbe with Rainbow Burst, acquiring two Cure Decors.

Wolfrun retreats, and everything returns to normal. Tae steps out of her house with food for Wolfrun, but as he disappeared she gives it to the girls instead. A gentle wind blows from the mountains, which Tae takes as a reward from the mountain spirits for a good deed. Meanwhile at the river shrine, someone has left a reward of rice cakes, fish and wine.
