Your Voice (あなたの声, Anata no Koe)^? is the 49^th episode of Wonderful Pretty Cure! and is the 1017^th episode of the Pretty Cure franchise overall.

Summary

Subaru tries to revive Gaou using the combined powers of the Diamond Unicorn and the Mirror Stone. But when he realizes it's not possible, he puts the Niko Diamond into his body and transforms into a giant wolf.

Synopsis

As he makes his way towards the Mirror Stone, Subaru reminisces about his time with Gaou and the other wolves and his promise to protect them from the villagers. He arrives at the Mirror Stone and tells Gaou that he's brought his forest back and placed the Cures under a deep sleep. He prepares to make his wish to revive Gaou when Komugi suddenly wakes up after hearing him howl in the distance.

Niko and the others arrive to look for the Cures, but things are looking bad. Komugi tries awakening Iroha when the medallion on her collar glows and causes her Wonderful Pact to do the same. Iroha wakes up and sees what has happened to Animal Town while Komugi also awakens Yuki and Mayu.

Subaru intends on combining the Niko Diamond's power with that of the Mirror Stone to fulfill his wish, but when he wishes for Gaou to be revived, nothing happens. The Cures hear him as he tries howling to Gaou, and Zakuro reunites with them while telling them how he used to communicate with Gaou like this. Seeing how worried Zakuro is, the Cures tell her they will rescue Subaru and she agrees.

Subaru presses his orb against the Mirror Stone and asks why his wish wasn't granted. Niko then confronts him about it while the others listen in. Subaru tells Niko about his wish and how he'll do anything to make it come true, but Niko says a life can't be brought back once it's lost. She tries telling Subaru his time is limited as well, but he declares that he doesn't care what happens to him. In a rage, he destroys the Mirror Stone, much to everyone's shock. Wanting to get his revenge on humans, he makes the Niko Diamond shard he's holding bigger and begins absorbing it. Niko begs him to stop, but he doesn't listen and transforms into a giant wolf intent on destroying the human world. He sends shadowy wolves to attack Animal Town and the Cures can only watch as he sadly howls. Komugi wants to calm him down and the Cures transform to confront Subaru one last time.

The Cures fly towards Subaru and try to get him to stop, but he doesn't listen and continue his assault on them. Friendy tries reminding him that he was kind to Komugi when they first met, but he's still upset about how he couldn't save Gaou and attacks them again. Still, Friendy says Subaru shouldn't be hurting anybody for the sake of his friend, but he doesn't listen to reason. One of the shadow wolves is about to hit Friendy when Wonderful attempts to protect her, but is hit point blank and falls to the ground. Friendy tearfully shouts Komugi's name and rushes to her side, where she reverts back into a dog and lays unconscious. Friendy begs Komugi to open her eyes, but she won't move.

Subaru watches what's happening and starts having flashbacks of Gaou dying in his arms. He starts crying in anguish as he calls off his attacks. As the Cures watch his breakdown, Zakuro tells them she's reminded of how Gaou defended Subaru at the cost of his life, which resulted in their pack splitting up and getting cornered more easily by the hunters. However, Subaru continued to protect them until the very end. Subaru then loses control of his powers and starts erratically attacking everything out of grief. Zakuro could only watch while Friendy still holds on to a nearly-defeated Komugi.

As Subaru continues rampaging, Zakuro begs him to stop and that he doesn't have to be angry anymore, but he doesn't listen. Meanwhile, in a dreamlike world, Komugi is looking at the glowing Mirror Stone when she hears howling. She realizes that it's different from Subaru's voice and starts howling too before finding herself face-to-face with Gaou. Komugi is happy that she's met Gaou and the two of them exchange howls for a while.

Back on earth, Komugi howls herself awake and Friendy is relieved that she's okay. She gives Komugi a big hug and starts to cry when Komugi licks her tears away and promises they'll be together forever. She also tells Friendy how she became a Cure to be with her and turns back into Wonderful. She asks Friendy to help her get to Subaru so she can tell him something, and Friendy agrees as the two fly off.

As Subaru continues attacking, Wonderful and Friendy reunite with Nyammy and Lillian to help him. Subaru then gets down on his knees and starts uncontrollably crying. Wonderful can feel his sadness and the pain that he's in and asks the other Cures to lend her their strength so she can help him. Subaru shouts that not only wasn't he able to protect Gaou, but he died while protecting Subaru from the villagers, meaning he can't forgive himself either. His powers grow even more out of control, and the Cures could only watch as the phantom wolves coalesce around him to form a giant egg. Niko says he absorbed too much of the Niko Diamond's power, putting his life at risk. Zakuro tries to say he shouldn't blame himself, but he doesn't listen.

While the Cures fly towards the egg, Satoru and Daifuku helplessly watch while Satoru wishes he could do something. Daifuku looks down at a chunk of the Mirror Stone, which suddenly glows and turns him into a human. Satoru is shocked to see Daifuku when he asks him what his wish is, and he says he wants to help the Cures. The two join hands and turn into their magical boy forms. Satoru is shocked at his transformation as Daifuku takes him to the egg. The Cures are surprised to see the two holding off a couple of the wolves before summoning a bell barrier that forms a hole in the egg that allows the Cures to enter it. Mey Mey cheers the Cures on while Satoru and Daifuku continue holding off the wolves.

Once the Cures are inside the egg, they find Subaru suspended in the air and unable to move. More phantom wolves attack the Cures, but Wonderful and Friendy still try to reach Subaru while Nyammy and Lillian distract the wolves. When things get too overwhelming, Friendy joins in helping the others while Wonderful finally gets to Subaru. Her howling wakes him up and she tries telling him Gaou isn't really mad at him, but he tries to swat her away and she lands in his mouth. Wonderful pries it open and tells Subaru she met Gaou, but he thinks she's lying.

Wonderful understands that Subaru wants to talk to Gaou like she always wanted to talk to Iroha, and how she eventually became a Pretty Cure and learned how to speak. She wants to tell Subaru what Gaou thinks and how their friendship parallels hers and Iroha's, and that Gaou loves him and hurts when Subaru is hurting. Subaru realizes what Wonderful means and starts crying. All the phantom wolves disappear as the other Cures meet with Wonderful and encourage him to admit his feelings. Subaru cries even more and the egg starts to crack while Niko watches and regains her powers. The anger and hatred has subsided, but Subaru asks why the Cures want to help even after all the pain he caused them. Despite that, Wonderful still wants to hug him whenever he's sad and wants everyone to be "wonderful" together.

Using Niko's power, the Cures performed a powered-up version of Eternal Kizuna Shower and reach out to Subaru. The attack purifies him and turns him back into a human, but he still wants to see Gaou one last time. Then, Subaru is awakened by a familiar howl and to his surprise sees Gaou standing before him.
